Political significance of the book 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell

Several decades have passed since 'Animal Farm' was written by George Orwell. Still it is one of those books which is not affected by the time or the changes around the world. The satirical novel still mocks at the fake personalities and ideologies of the ruling party. This book compells us to take a look around the political world and how it affects our own lives and make us think about the political situation surrounding us. Then we can see that we haven't gone much forward. The same story and incidents in the book can be seen in the world around us in same or different levels. But to see it we need to look with clear eyes, removing the glasses provided by the one governing us.

Sadly, a same pattern repeats over time. When the people who are on the ruling side makes the decisions against the will of the people or take away our rights from us or turn the laws for their on benefits, a group will emerge saying that they will protect our rights and promises a better rule or a better world itself! But what happens when they comes to power. We can see that when they get the powers, they are not different from the former group. This is what the book 'Animal Farm' is also telling. In a farm led by people animals revolt against the draconian rulers (here the people) and replaces them with pigs. But the pigs who entered the power promising a better life for the animals failed to keep that promise. With the power in hands they have become the same like the people they replaced. They started to take the rights one by one. They started to change the rules to protect their own selfish needs. The novel's last part is a striking one. The animals was looking toward the group of people and pigs who was sitting togethor. But the animals can't recognize which one is the pig or which one is the human. Both of them were similar.

This is also what's happening around us. The chair of the ruler is a dirty one. Either it will make the people sitting on it dirty or the people sitting on it adds thier part of dirtyness to the chair.
